Another month passes at KHS

School is back in session and we are excited to see what 2024 brings us! We hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas break, and can find enough motivation to finish the rest of this school year!

As things start to slow down, we hope that we can provide some fun to brighten up these gloomy months. We have some fun dances coming up! Sweethearts will take place on February 3, at the Elementary School gym. This will be a super fun dance and we hope that you guys can make it. Junior Prom is coming up right around the corner, it will be held on March 2, and we hope that all juniors will make an effort to attend.

Our drill team, the KHS Larriettes, attended their annual region competition recently. It was held in South Sevier, however, that didn’t stop our fans from going up and supporting them! They were able to place second in Military, second in Dance and third in Show, which ultimately placed them at second overall! State drill will be held at Utah Valley University at the end of this month. We are so proud of our drill team, and we wish them luck at state!

Our boys and girls basketball teams are in the middle of their region play. The boys’ team has been having a great run and are currently sitting at number one in the RPI. They tipped over the previous number one team, the Enterprise Wolves, at home a few weeks ago. The boys will take on the Parowan Rams to finish up their January games. The girls’ basketball team is currently sitting at number two in the RPI. They lost a close one to the Beaver Beavers at the beginning of January, and they are hoping to beat them on January 30 when they travel to Beaver. We are so proud of both of our boys and girls basketball teams, and we wish them all the best of luck as they continue through region play and get ready for the state tournament!

Our wrestling team has been killing it this year. They have improved so much and all of their hard work is paying off. The Cowboys hosted the Hurricane Tigers at home for senior night, and they came out with an amazing win. We wish the wrestling team the best of luck as they continue to prepare for state!

We hope that everyone is able to stay motivated and enthusiastic as we push through the final stretch of the school year. We are so happy to see everyone back at school and we missed you through Christmas break. Let’s all saddle up and work hard to make 2024 the best one yet!
