A fire that ripped through a cabin in Duck Creek Village caused an estimated $two million in damages. On Sunday, May 2, the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District (CMFPD) received a call about a fire at a local cabin and quickly rushed to put it out. Valley Fire Department, Glendale Fire Department and Kanab Ambulance were called to assist in the fire.

No one was injured in the fire after the resident was able to escape unharmed. The CMFPD was able to put out the fire before it spread to other cabins or the surrounding forest. The cabin and its contents are considered a total loss.
