According to the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office, a male in his 80s was driving a white Dodge pickup truck following his son and daughter, both in their 40s and driving separate four-wheelers. The trio from southern California was traveling northbound when the pickup truck driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, and ran over his daughter driving the four-wheeler directly in front of the pickup. Despite wearing a helmet, the daughter was pronounced deceased on scene. Mosdell’s Mortuary took possession of the body, which will be transferred to the Coconino County Coroner’s office for further investigation.

There was no indication on scene that drugs or alcohol were an influence in this tragic accident.

There is no further information available for this open investigation.
