The Kane Education Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to our incredible donors who recently contributed generously to support educational programs and initiatives for students in our community. With the combined donations from Garkane Energy, Best Friends Animal Society and the Kane County Commissioners, as well as many other individuals, the Foundation is empowered to further enrich the lives of young learners throughout Kane County.
Garkane Energy makes a significant contribution of $2,000 every year, which is instrumental in sustaining a range of hands-on programs for students. The energy cooperative has long been a supporter of the Kane County community, demonstrating its commitment to education, sustainability and community development. This donation represents their ongoing dedication to helping local students reach their fullest potential.
Best Friends Animal Society, a renowned national organization with local roots, generously contributes $15,000 yearly to the Foundation. Known for its work in animal welfare, Best Friends’ involvement in community education initiatives demonstrates a powerful commitment to young learners and the community at large. Their donation will allow the Foundation to expand our educational programs and provide students with the resources they need to thrive academically.
The Kane County Commission awards the Kane Education Foundation with $20,000 every year to further enhance our programs and initiatives. This substantial support from our local leaders exemplifies their dedication to the future of our children and our community, recognizing the vital role of education in building a vibrant, engaged society.
Finally, we want to thank Kane County Office of Tourism, SUU STEM Center for Teaching and Learning, Utah STEM Action Center, Robert Rummelhart, Karen Alvey, Bob Ledoux, NWL Architects, VCBO Architecture, L.L.C, Michael and Mary Kabella and Layne and Julie Dicker for their continued support as well. With these contributions, the Kane Education Foundation is able to continue its mission of supporting and enriching the educational experience for students across Kane County such as:
• Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: Since March 2021, 335 children ages birth to five have participated in this early literacy program. Over 7,000 books have been delivered in Kane County alone!
• Preschool Summer Science Camp: Over 70 children aged four to six participated in our summer camp learning all about life science. They learned about what plants need to grow, food chains and how plants and animals adapt to survive.
• Art in the Library/ Elementary Schools: Over 320 students are able to participate in new art projects every month at the library, Valley Elementary and Big Water Elementary.
• STEM Camps: 40 girls and 40 boys ages nine to fourteen were able to participate in a two-day STEM camp learning soldering, 3D design and printing, photography, Makey Makey, sublimation design and much more.
• Summer Counseling: During the summer months, 37 elementary and high school students were able to work with licensed therapists so they would not lose their progress that they made during the school year.
The funds will be directed toward critical resources, enriching academic programs and hands-on learning opportunities, all aimed at creating a brighter future for our students.
The Kane Education Foundation would like to thank each of these organizations and individuals for their generosity and commitment to empowering young minds. With their support, we are excited to continue fostering a brighter, stronger future for every student in Kane County.
