Across Utah and Idaho, more than 3,000 elementary school students are taking part in “Lights On” events by making festive decorations to deck the halls of their local Zions Bank lobbies. Zions Bank has been inviting students to participate in this tree trimming tradition for 52 years.
More than 100 Kindergarten students from Fredonia, Kanab and Valley Elementary schools decorated the tree inside Zions Bank’s Kanab branch on December 11. During the “Lights On” ceremony, students also performed holidays carols and received a visit from Santa Claus.
The decorated tree will be on display in the bank’s lobby through the holidays.
“We cherish this annual tradition because it gets us into the holiday spirit,” said Laura Sherwood, manager of Zions Bank’s Kanab branch. “We hope the com- munity and our clients will inside Zions Bank’s Kanab branch. enjoy the decorated tree as much as we do.”
This year, more than 50 elementary schools are participating in Zions Bank’s “Lights On” holiday celebrations. Additionally, several Zions Bank branches have invited students from special-needs classes and Title 1 schools to decorate the trees in their lobbies.
