In Kanab, a van and an SUV collided at relatively low speed around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, in the main intersection where Center Street branches into 89 and 89a. Traffic was stopped in front of Samco and Coldwell Banker as law enforcement and medical services responded to the incident. While ambulances were called to the scene, there have been no reports of critical injury as a result of the collision.
A second incident occurred on October 15, as multiple sirens were heard through Kanab in the early afternoon; a sedan had swerved off the road and impacted a tree at relatively high speed, caving in the engine. A social media post by emergency responders stated, “One patient with injuries was transported via Ambulance 21 to Kane County Hospital. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.”
As 2024 continues to show a trend of increasing automobile incidents, emergency response officials encourage drivers to drive defensively, monitor speeds and never drive impaired.
