On October 31, at the Fredonia Senior Center there was a rowdy party to celebrate Halloween. Sonya Kimball, director of the center, always makes a big deal of the holidays. “I try to make it special”, she said.

The meal served was Werewolf w/grilled worms (aka Ground rounds with grilled onions), Mashed Maggots w/Slime Sauce (aka mashed potatoes and gravy), Cat Eyes and Witches Nails (aka coined carrots and green beans), Ghost Droppings (aka biscuits), and Sliced Frankenstein w/ Dracula Blood (aka apple pie with caramel sauce). About 80 people were fed that day and everyone who came into the center for lunch enjoyed music by The Baker Bunch, a local music group.
Meals are served at the Senior Center Monday through Friday at noon. There is a suggested donation of $4 per meal for persons over 60 and $8 per meal for persons under 60. This is a great way to get a well-balanced meal and socialize at the same time. Just make sure to call in to reserve your meal ahead of time so they know how many people to plan on.
