Dogs know that ball is life, and it’s almost time for the big game – Puppy Bowl XX!

To celebrate 20 years of Puppy Bowl, Best Friends Animal Society is teaming up with Warner Bros. Discovery to help adoptable pets find loving homes just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Pet lovers in Kanab are invited to a Puppy Bowl XX party at Best Friends Roadhouse & Mercantile this Sunday, February 11, from 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., to watch the event, meet adoptable puppies, kittens, bunnies and guinea pigs available to adopt at no cost, enjoy free snacks, make pet toys and take Puppy Bowl themed photos.
“The cutest game in television, Puppy Bowl XX is set up to reach more people than ever before, giving adoptable dogs and cats around the country a greater chance of finding their loving home in the coming weeks,” said Julie Castle, CEO, Best Friends Animal Society.
Adoptions will be free for all animals at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary through Feb. 14, and fees will also be waived at more than 150 of Best Friends network partner shelters and rescue groups across the country.
For Best Friends, Puppy Bowl XX is extra special as Sonny, a Best Friends New York City alumni will take part in the action as a member of Team Ruff.
Sonny came to Best Friends in New York City from the Humane Society of Elmore County in Alabama, where he and another puppy were found wandering around as strays. After their stray hold was up, Sonny made his way up to NYC where he went into a temporary foster home that would turn out to be his loving home. After only three days in his foster home, Sonny was selected to be in Puppy Bowl XX and left for filming.
When he got back from the big game, his foster family decided to make it official.
Puppy Bowl airs on Sunday, February 11 at 2 p.m. EST ET/ 11 a.m. PST, and will be simulcast across Animal Planet, Discovery, TBS, truTV, Max and discovery+.
Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is open daily from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., at 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab. Adoptable animals are available to meet at Roxy’s Room at the Welcome Center, Syngin’s Room at Cat World or the Adoption Hub at Puppy Preschool in Dogtown. Stop at the Welcome Center for a map and directions, plus a free cup of hot coffee or tea.
