[UPDATED] 5/23/24
Yesterday, Tony Baird, a Garkane Energy Cooperative employee accidently touched a live 7200 volt power line in Tod’s substation. Although a review continues, it appears that the flow of electricity moved predominately thru Tony’s arm and shoulder which produced severe burns. Tony was flown from the substation site near Hatch Utah to the UMC burn center in Las Vegas. Latest reports indicate that he is in stable condition but experiencing a lot of pain.
On behalf of the entire Garkane family, we continue to pray for Tony’s comfort and for his recovery as well as for his family. Living in rural areas like this, the entire community is affected by difficult things like this…and we appreciate everyone’s support!
