On the afternoon of April 1, 2025, the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the first annual Raising Kane Job fair, a community event showcasing local businesses and educational organizations seeking applicants from the area. The fair featured 32 local businesses, schools and public organizations, lined up in the gymnasium of the Kanab Center’s Building B.

The first half of the fair’s duration was dedicated to students from local high schools, seeking potential internships and employment opportunities following graduation; the second half opened the fair to the general public.
Attendance at the fair was estimated to be around 50 between the students and general public. The students were given sticker charts to record which booths they had visited, with accompanying prizes.
“It was a good time!” Said Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce President Pat Guerrero. “We’re calling it the first annual job fair, we’ve got plans to host one like it every year going forward - maybe a little earlier in the year, at the beginning of March. We’re hoping to see more participation from the community, and we’d especially like to see more students attend next time.”
One proprietor of a participating business commented, “It’s really hard to hire right now, but events like this improve the odds - at least it’s a good chance to network with other local businesses, that’s what the Chamber of Commerce does best.”
