Kanab Little League Wrestlers finished the 2022 season with a good turnout at the state tournament held at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, Utah, on March 26. Throughout the season, our wrestlers traveled to eight tournaments squaring off with some of the toughest kids in
the state. After honing their skills throughout the season, 21 of our boys participated in the state
tournament against nearly 800 other kids from around the state.
Kanab wrestlers proved to be worthy opponents, as 13 of our 21 boys took the podium and brought home medals.
Wyatt Quarnberg, preschool, secured fourth place.
In the kindergarten class Cutty Quarnberg made it to the finals and ended up in second place.
First grade boys medaled three out of three boys, Kellan Wright and Klin Lyman both took third and Dune Stotlar took fourth.
Second grade boys had Parker Swapp get to the finals but just fell short in a hard-fought match to bring home second. Traysen Petersen finished in third and Reed Quarnberg and Kwin Hunt both finished up with fourth place.
Jahlon Finnicum, third grader, had a great showing and pinned his way into the finals, ending up in second place.
Trace Wright, fourth grade, secured fourth place.
In the fifth and sixth grade division, Dylan Stubbs wrapped up an excellent season by taking the top of the podium and bringing home gold.
In the seventh and eighth grade division, Kanon Virostko finished strong in a close match to clinch third place.
Great job Kanab wrestlers!
