Saturday, March 15, saw clear, sunny skies and happy countenances as women gathered at the Kanab Center for the 25th annual Kanab Women’s Forum. The energy was electric as groups of women attended a wide variety of workshops ranging from chocolate-tasting, lotion making and sublimation printing, to gut health and body and moon cycles.

Karen Alvey, a member of the first ever Women’s Forum Board, was present and asked to stand, along with many other former board members from over the years.
The keynote speaker, Clair Canfield, invoked laughter and emotion as he addressed the crowd, speaking on personal growth, change and overcoming shame as we navigate both the good and hard times in our lives to become happier healthier versions of ourselves.
Mid-morning refreshments of muffins and fruit were provided by Glazier’s Family Market, as well as Honey B Baker Melissa Harlan’s fresh sourdough bread.
A delicious lunch was served by Sego Restaurant thanks to Chef Shon Foster, his wife Elizabeth and their family and staff.
The end of the forum saw door prizes from many generous local businesses, and a grand prize including an overnight stay in scenic Cave Lake and a guided tour from Roam, which was won by Kanab’s own Sylvia Timothy Sims. Cupcakes made by Becca Glover were served, final comments by the Board were made, and the day ended with a balloon drop from the ceiling and dancing and cheering from the attendees.
