Kane County Commission appoints Keiren Chatterley as Interim Kane County Treasurer

The Commission met for a Special Meeting in the School Board Room at the Kanab Center on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to appoint Keiren Chatterley as Interim Kane County Treasurer. Commissioners Wade Heaton, Celeste Meyeres and Patty Kubeja were in attendance.

The meeting was called to order at 2 p.m. Commissioner Heaton welcomed those in attendance, including members of the public and elected officials that included Kane County Clerk Auditor Chameil Lamb, Kane County Sheriff Tracy Glover and Kane County Human Resources Director Rhonda Gant. Commissioner Heaton provided the invocation and Commissioner Kubeja led the room in the Pledge of Allegiance.

There were no comments made during the public comment period.

There was no consent agenda to approve, so the commission addressed the single item on the regular agenda, the Appointment of Keiren Chatterley as Interim Kane County Treasurer.

After brief remarks from each of the commissioners thanking Chatterley for choosing to serve, Commissioner Meyeres moved to approve the appointment. All three commissioners voted in the affirmative.

The commission moved to adjourn at 2:10 p.m. The motion carried unanimously.

Chatterley has worked for the county for 15 years, most recently as Deputy Treasurer. The Kane

County Republican Central Committee recently recommended her appointment, and she will serve as Interim Treasurer to complete the term of former Kane County Treasurer Kevin Blomquist, who announced his resignation on June 16, 2023.

Asked for a comment, Chatterley said, “It’s an honor and a privilege to serve the citizens of Kane County,” noting that Kane County Sheriff Tracy Glover has been a recent valued mentor.

Kane County Commission meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 2 p.m. in the School Board Room at the Kanab Center. Agendas and meeting minutes can be found on Utah’s Public Notice website at www.utah.gov/pmn/.
