With current Kane County Treasurer Kevin Blomquist accepting a position with the state Office of Tourism, the Republican Party is accepting candidate applications for the Treasurer vacancy. The County’s Republican Party Committee will be reviewing applicants to fill the vacancy until Blomquist’s term is up at the end of 2024 - at which point a new treasurer, potentially the same appointed interim treasurer, is elected to assume the position for a full-term starting January 2025.
Applications for interim treasurer close on Wednesday, July 19. Per election officials in the county office, “it’s a process that moves pretty fast.” Applicants can submit resumes to County Republican Party Chair Boyd Corry, at bc@ kanab.net, and can contact Corry at (435)- 689-0997.
Until the party has submitted an applicant that is then accepted by the commission, Blomquist’s Chief Deputy Treasurer Trish Spendlove is acting as Interim Treasurer. Spendlove received hearty endorsements from Blomquist as well as County Officials.
