The Lady Cowboys were led by Junior Kenidee Glazier who won the women’s race by a large margin. Glazier’s time of 19:08 was over two minutes faster than South Sevier’s Callie Owens (21:18) who took second, with Beaver’s Lucy McMaster taking third (22:10).

Second across the line for the Lady Cowboys was Silver Henderson, who finished in the top 10 with a time of 24:45. Charity Bowman (28:21) and Danika Davis (28:22) were third and fourth for Kanab, with Brooklyn Bauer rounding out the top five (28:33).

The girls team finished third overall and will need to maintain a top four team finish during the Region Championships to punch a team ticket to State.

The boys team had one of their better team finishes, placing second overall, with Senior Austin Church leading the charge. Church’s time of 17:27 placed him third overall, narrowly losing out to Roger Cope (17:23) of Enterprise and Roy Allen (17:26) of Parowan.

Two other Cowboys would finish in the top 10. Juniors Mason Roundy and Braxton Brown placed seventh and ninth respectively, turning in times of 18:17 and 18:31. Rounding out the top five scorers for the Cowboys were Levi Clarkson (19:10) and Lucas Downward (20:00).

The Cowboys will host the Region 18 Championships over at the Thunderbird Golf Course in Mt. Carmel on Thursday, October 17. Varsity starts at 11 0.am. The top four teams, both boys and girls will make it to the State Championships. Good luck Cowboys and Lady Cowboys!
