At about 7:56 a.m., on February 27, a single-vehicle crash was called in on Highway 89 with the driver in critical condition. The Chevrolet Silverado, headed northbound toward Orderville at milepost 81, veered off the road to the right, through the brush and into the river below.
According the Utah Highway Patrol report, the roads were dry and weather was not a major factor in the crash - reports are still pending being able to speak with the driver, a 68-year-old man. For now, the responders to the scene have declared indeterminate cause for the incident.
The driver’s condition was serious to critical, and a life flight helicopter was called in to rush him to medical care. His condition has not since been confirmed aside from arriving at the hospital for treatment.
