On June 26, 2023, at approximately 1240 hours, Kanab Fire was dispatched to a reported grass and debris fire on 1100 S in Kanab. Engine 21 responded and a page for additional manpower was requested to include KFD volunteers and the Fredonia fire department.

This is our third human started fire in the past two weeks. The city is currently under burn restrictions that only allow for campfires in approved fire pits. We would like to ask everyone to be extra mindful of our dry weather conditions as we prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July with BBQs and fireworks this weekend and into next week.
We would like to thank our busy KFD volunteers, the Fredonia fire department and the Big Water fire department for their help on this incident.
