Pigskin Predictions Week 11 recap – it’s about time

Kerry Glover (finally) kicked it into gear for Week 11 to claim his $50 prize from Brown Box’s Lacy Brown. Photo by Brooke Knighton.

The tides, they are turning ladies and gentlemen, and change is in the air! Not only did 2 undefeated teams get beat, but we have a new winner as well!

Week 11 was a crazy week of football: The Chiefs and BYU lost (it’s about time!), we saw a ridiculously high scoring game (I’m not saying Idaho State is bad, maybe Eastern Washington is just that good…probably not), everyone picked the Niner’s to win (can anyone say Seahawks?), our Cowboys lost in the ship, and the Chargers vs. Bengals game had us all guessing until the very end.

But the craziest thing coming out of week 11, may just be our Winner. Longtime Pigskin player, Kerry Glover finally got it done in 2024 and won him some Brown Box! Kerry picked 12 out of 15 correctly and I won’t even hold it against him that he feels the compulsive need to put “da” in front of every team on his entry form. You almost need to speak another language to decipher it. At least we’ve all lived in Kanab long enough to learn to understand Glover (A skill many have and no one wants).

Honorable mentions go to John Bacialli, April Hunt (not Hung, sorry for the typo April), Dennis Brunner and April Riddle who all picked 11 correctly. You four will have to duke it out for the runner-up trophy and hopefully that is a better fight than Tyson saw last weekend. (My money is on Riddle)

Week 11 Mr. (or Ms. in this case) Irrelevant is non-other than our Week 10 winner, Aneisha Beal. If anyone was wondering if Week 10 was a fluke, you now have your answer. Aneisha only managed to pick 4 correct and a toddler playing heads or tails could do better than that I think. Someone test that out and let us know how it goes. (Looking at you Aniesha)

While Aneisha saw the biggest fall in rankings, Alivia Swapp was a close second (Rough week all around, wasn’t it Alivia?). While those two ladies were falling from the top, Kerry Glover was rising to the top, and Kelly Brown wins for the closest tie breaker guess. Seven off isn’t too bad Kelly, you can even keep your shoes on to count that high.

Thanks again to everyone who played, thanks to Brown Box, our Week 11 featured sponsor, and thanks as always to all our 2024 sponsors. We couldn’t do it without you. (Well, we could, but no one would play.) See you all in Week 12.
