Southern Utah News is updating its online subscription services

Hello, Dear Readers!

The Southern Utah News (SUN) is upgrading its online subscription services. This includes digital issue delivery, print and digital subscribers’ account management and archived issues of the paper. Following this update, online subscribers will no longer be redirected to a third-party site to manage their subscriptions or get digital editions of the SUN. All our subscriber data will be secured in one place. PayPal will be taken out of the loop, as well - we’ll be using a secure transaction system within our website for your convenience.

As with any technological shift, there might be some bumps in the road along the way. You might receive an email or two testing the system, and we may need to contact you to confirm information as we shift to the new database. We’ll also need to turn subscriptions off for a week or two. Not to worry, though, we’re keeping our physical archives and subscriber database separate from the update, so the inconvenience will be mild - nobody will be losing their subscriptions or anything like that. In fact, as a thank you for your patience during this change, we will be adding a few weeks to everyone’s subscription free of charge.

We’re also changing the subscription rate to one, single amount: $40/year. This is a reduction for out-of-towners (about one percent of all subscribers) and a small increase for digital-only subscribers (about 2.5 percent of all subscribers) that works out the same as having three different subscription amounts. We’re keeping it simple for the sake of convenience.

We’ll have further updates about these changes over the next several weeks. We’re very excited to bring our digital presence up to snuff, with faster loading times, more consistent delivery, automated resubscription, clearer quality and a much more convenient online experience for subscribers. Note: If you don’t manage your subscription online, nothing will change for you at all. And as always, feel free to call the paper with questions, drop by the office, or email us at contact@sunews.net.

Thank you for your support, and thank you for reading the Southern Utah News!
