During one of the only day-long snowstorms in Kane County, a group of 10 Educational Talent Search students (TRIO) headed out to White Pocket with Kirk Allred and Kelly Livingston – both tour guides with Kanab Tour Company.
During the course of the day, students were introduced to internship opportunities with the IIC program out of Southern Utah University. These internships are spearheaded by Briget Eastep at SUU and help provide meaningful internships with the Bureau of Land Management to local students in Kane and other counties.
ETS students were also given information about Outdoor Recreation and possible careers available to them.
In addition to this, they were informed about Native American hunting sites and cultural practices. The day was cold and snowy, but everyone enjoyed the time on Razors out on Monument lands.
