If you know, you know – coffee drinkers in Kanab are serious about their beverages, and Taro Coffee Bar, at 183 S 100 E in downtown Kanab, has been a popular local source for delicious handmade hot and cold caffeinated drinks since opening for business last summer.
Located in the parking lot of the State Farm Insurance office, the distinctive wood-sided mobile shop pours drinks for more than just the area’s caffeine aficionados, including hand-mixed energy drinks, hot and iced teas and a tantalizing variety of bespoke Italian sodas for thirsty customers both young and old.
A member of the Kanab Area Chamber of Commerce, Taro Coffee Bar celebrated with a ribbon cutting on Small Business Saturday, November 26, at 10 a.m. About 35 people turned out on that beautiful sunny morning to celebrate and welcome first-time business owners, Tonya and Adam Ortiz.
Commissioner-elect Celeste Meyeres spoke to the gathering about the importance of small businesses to the local economy, and thanked Tonya and Adam for opening their new venture in Kanab. Chamber Vice-President Ron Thomas noted that ribbon cuttings are one of his favorite things about being on the chamber board, adding “I’m super-excited about this new member, Taro Coffee. Tonya and Adam are great small business owners, and we are thrilled to honor them this morning on Small Business Saturday!”
Taro owner, Tonya Ortiz told the group, “We’re so happy to be part of this community! Thank you so much for coming out, it’s an honor!”
