The Lady Cowboys hosted the St. Joseph Jayhawks on Friday, February 18, in the first round of the playoffs after the Cowboys enjoyed a first round bye. The Catholic school from Ogden, proved to be no match for the Cowboys. The first period sounded with the Cowboys leading 20-6, and 44-7 at halftime. The Cowboys defense continued to stifle the Jayhawks throughout the game, as they were only able to muster six in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth. The final score was 73-23, a fifty-point spectacle, which will likely subside as the Cowboys advance through the tournament.

The Cowboys entered the tournament as the number two seed, and will face the number seven seed North Sevier Wolves on Thursday, February 24, at 5:50 p.m., at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, Utah. The Cowboys beat the Wolves in their only face-off this season by a score of 50-23, when they met in a tournament back in December. The Wolves always come to play, so the Cowboys will have their work cut out for them the rest of the way.

Ashlyn Houston had the hot hand, leading the Cowboys on four of five shooting from three.

Rylie Staton and Marley Daley get into the action from the bench, making sure everyone in the stands know which team the sharpshooters play for.
