Friday, March 22, Valley High School for the first time in two decades attracted thespians from around the 1A Region 20 histrionics community for a gathering of awarding competitors in Contemporary & Classical Scenes, Musical Theatre, Pantomime, Dramatic Monologues and Humorous Monologues categories prior to the State Drama meeting on Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Valley’s veteran Theatre Department Director and Coach, Kelly Lamb, wrapped it up. “We had a good time! Yeah, it’s been 20 years since we hosted at Valley High School. So, we had a good time, good turnout. A lot of competition. We came away with two pretty good awards for Humorous Monologues. Everybody that came to Region qualified for State.”

Assistant Coach Becca Osterhout shared her perspective, saying, “I was excited to host Region here, because I’ve been to many other events and was really excited to bring that energy to Valley, and just welcome everybody here. I think that our little, small theater did great, and they did good effort. It was exciting to see all the other teams and all their individual acts.”
