Per their report, “Thanks to widespread support and vigilance, an arrest was made in the petroglyph cultural site vandalism at BLM’s Wire Pass Trail in Kane Co. The suspect [identified as Daniela Ganassim Ericksen], was taken into custody on November 30 on felony charges in St. George by BLM law enforcement.”

BLM officials credited the public with the information necessary to apprehend the suspect and her associate. Per Paria River District Manager Harry Barber, other travelers witnessed the vandalism, attempted to stop the suspect’s activities then recorded the ongoing vandalism when the suspect refused to stop. Per Barber, those recordings were instrumental in the arrest.
